The Deputy Chief assists the Chief in the performance of his duties.  As well, he/she performs the duties assigned to him/her by the Chief, the Council and by-laws and regulations of the Whapmagoostui First Nation. In the event the Chief is absent or incapacitated or if the office of the Chief is vacant, the Deputy Chief has and may exercise all the powers and duties of the Chief
